Foodie Friday Details

Whether you’re a full-time foodie or simply incorporating the occasional recipe on your platform, you will NOT want to miss Foodie Friday during Megaphone Summit.

Foodie Friday is a separate, ticketed event add-on to Megaphone Summit taking place on Friday afternoon before the full summit kicks off. Attendance is limited to 50 participants, and tickets are going quickly!.

This event will be conducted at Brightwater: A Center For The Study Of Food. More than a culinary school, this phenomenal venue is accredited by the American Culinary Federation and offers culinary education focused on the larger food system, wellness and strengthening local food networks.

Brightwater is located in the heart of 8th Street Market, a cutting edge multi-use facility in Bentonville which is home to a variety of the region’s most forward-thinking food merchants including Markham & Fitz Chocolate Makers, Sweet Freedom Artisanal Cheese, Juice Palm, Yeyo’s Mexican Grill, The Holler, a thriving farmers’ market and Bike Rack Brewing. It’s a food extravaganza!

Foodie Friday will be led by an array of food experts who will make your head spin and your tummy growl.Chef Aria Kagan from Brightwater (and Season 6 finalist from The Food Channel’s Next Food Network Star) will be your primary host for Foodie Friday… and her energy is boundlessYou will love her - we pinky swear! She’ll be accompanied by our very own Soapboxer Lyndi Fultz of The Joy of Eating Well.

We’ll be joined by Jeff Hawley (aka HashtagJeff, "that SEO guy"), who has spoken at the Tastemaker Conference and runs an SEO course tailored to publishers and bloggers. Attendees will also enjoy a food photography tip session with influencer Saidah Washington of Aprons & Stilletos.

Foodie Friday will also feature wine expert and beverage consultant James King of King James Wine School, who previously ran the prestigious Wine & Spirit Education Trust and French Wine Society Certifications, represents the regions of Napa Valley, Bourdeaux, Burgundy, Rhone, Provence and Rioja and is a speaker at the Annual Society of Wine Educators.

James will be joined by certified cheese professional (!!) and “curd nerd" Jessica Keahey, the owner and founder of Sweet Freedom Cheese… the only full-service, cut-to-order shop in the state of Arkansas (read all about her in Culture: the magazine on cheese).

All we can say is COME HUNGRY. You’ll kick things off with an immersive experience in the culinary demo theater at Brightwater followed by a nibbling tour of 8th Street Market. Then, you’ll return to the culinary demonstration kitchen and classrooms for hands-on workshops, plenty of opportunities for food styling and photography and an in-depth session on all the ins and outs of SEO for foodies. Finally, it’s everyone on point for knife skills followed by cheese and wine tips and a hands-on how-to on building a charcuterie board.

This workshop will sell out, in all likelihood by early June. If you want to participate, grab your ticket quickly
